Alternate lives, timelines, and all the versions of us that could have existed.

I think about this constantly.

What if one decision had gone differently? What if I had grown up somewhere else? What if a person I never met in this life mattered deeply to me in another one?

What if there are whole versions of us shaped by choices we never made, places we never went, people we never knew, or events that never happened?

I love theories like that because they make life feel so much bigger than the one path we can actually see.

Creatively, they open everything. A different timeline can change a person’s entire personality. One altered event can reshape a family, a city, a government, or a whole universe.

That’s one of my favorite parts of storytelling. I love asking ‘what if?’ and then following that question until it becomes something I didn’t expect.
