I’ll be writing a scene, switch over to a moodboard, fall into a research rabbit hole, sketch a character, then come back to the scene with a completely different idea.
It probably looks like I’m doing ten things at once. I kind of am. But to me, they’re all parts of the same thing.
A visual can change the way I write a setting. A theory can become a storyline. A character sketch can reveal personality. One line of dialogue can shift an entire scene.
I don’t really create in a straight line. I create in layers.
That’s one of the things I’ve learned to stop fighting.
